Statistics of the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA) show that the average domestic steel price has increased by about 5% compared to the end of 2022.
According to data from the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA), the domestic steel price has had 5 consecutive increases, exceeding the threshold of 17 million VND/ton.
In which, Pomina Steel manufacturer recently adjusted its selling price by more than 1 million VND/ton, bringing the price of construction steel of this brand to nearly 17.5 million VND/ton.

Similarly, the new price of Pomina coil in the central region of non-grade 10 has increased to VND 17.6-17.8 million/ton, depending on the standard; Non-grade 12 increased to 17.29-17.49 million VND/ton. In the South, the price of steel also increased by 810,000 VND/ton, to 17.08-17.49 million VND/ton, depending on the type.
Other steel companies such as Vina Kyoei, Southern Steel all recorded selling prices exceeding 16 million VND/ton. In which, Vina Kyoei steel and Southern steel grade 10 have the same selling price of 16.24-16.44 million VND/ton. Other steel companies such as Hoa Phat, Viet-Italy, Thai Nguyen... also have the selling price of nearly 16 million dong/ton.
With the selling price at the factories mentioned above, the retail price at the stores will add a few million dong/ton, mainly the transportation fee from the factory to the place of consumption.
Accordingly, the retail steel price of Vina Kyoei, Southern Steel currently exceeds 18.2 million VND/ton; Steel prices of other firms also fluctuated in the range of 17-17.5 million VND/ton. Pomina's steel price alone is up to nearly 19 million VND/ton.
Statistics of the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA) show that the average domestic steel price has increased by about 5% compared to the end of 2022, but still about 8% lower than the same period last year.
Because the selling price of finished steel increased more slowly than the growth rate of input materials, the business performance of construction steel companies was still low, and it was difficult from purchasing input materials to consuming output finished products.
VSA believes that the high price of raw materials causes domestic factories to increase selling prices many times to compensate for production costs and reduce losses. The mills have moves to adjust the price of coil/rebar or CB4, CB5/CB3 of the mills, showing that the price increase and price structure by category is being carried out step by step.
