Recently, a number of policies related to the development of production and use of green building materials have been promulgated such as: Law on Construction 2014, Article 110 requirements on the use of building materials, regulations on the use of building materials "Safety, efficiency and effectiveness". efficient, economical and environmentally friendly”. Decree No. 09/2021/ND-CP on management of building materials, Article 5 provides policies to encourage the development of green building materials.

In addition, the standards and technical regulations on green building materials, the user manuals and the economic and technical norms are incomplete, so investors, design consultants, users There are not enough grounds to put the product into the project.
In addition, green building materials are often new and high-end products, so the price is higher than normal building materials, which can increase the cost of construction, while the financial capacity for housing investment is limited and users the overall efficiency of the project has not been taken into account. Not to mention some places, sometimes even bringing to the market low-quality products, leading to anxiety for users...
Strengthening solutions on policy, communication... about green building materials
On the basis of determining that the development of production and use of low-emission and energy-efficient building materials to meet the needs of construction in general and housing construction in particular is an urgent issue, Dr. Thai Duy Sam It is necessary to continue to fully promulgate and review, amend and supplement mechanisms and policies to promote the production and use of green building materials, especially in the construction of social housing (support policies for businesses). production of green building materials in terms of investment, finance, taxes, etc., contributing to reducing product costs; policies on incentives for projects using green building materials). Along with that is promoting communication and training to raise public awareness about green building materials, green buildings and the benefits they bring to investors and users in particular, the whole society in general. in general, to change habits in the use of building materials; functional agencies need to fully promulgate product standards, technical regulations, user manuals and economic and technical norms related to the use of green building materials; Building material manufacturing enterprises continue to find all solutions (investment in equipment renewal, production technology, corporate governance improvement, application of 4.0 scientific and technological achievements ...) to stabilize and improve quality, reduce product costs, promote consumption of green building materials.
