Mr. Dang Thanh Tam, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, General Director of Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation (stock symbol: KBC on HoSE), met with the leadership of the People's Committee of Can Tho City to discuss the investment plans for the O Mon High-Tech Industrial Park and the Co Do - Thoi Lai Industrial Park in Can Tho City.
According to the proposed investment plan from Kinh Bac Urban Development, the O Mon High-Tech Industrial Park will cover an area of 250 hectares, including a 100-hectare smart urban area, with a workforce of 10,000 people. The project is expected to be implemented over three years with a preliminary investment of 4,200 billion VND.
This project is anticipated to attract up to 2.5 billion USD in investment, focusing on key industries such as electronics, AI and semiconductor development, information technology, telecommunications, precision engineering, automation, biotechnology, new materials, and nanotechnology, according to the leadership of Kinh Bac Urban Development.
For the Co Do - Thoi Lai Industrial Park, the project is expected to cover an area of up to 1,070 hectares, including a 300-hectare urban, service, and sports area, with a workforce of 35,000 people. The project is planned to be executed in two phases: Phase 1 will cover 498 hectares, and Phase 2 will cover 572 hectares.
The total investment for infrastructure and construction of this project is 12,800 billion VND. The project aims to attract about 3.5 billion USD in investment and is expected to be completed in five years, with Phase 1 taking three years and Phase 2 taking two years.
According to Kinh Bac Urban Development, this will be a comprehensive industrial park prioritizing local competitive industries and products, conserving resources, promoting modern technology, supporting industries with high added value, and minimizing environmental pollution.
During the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, welcomed Kinh Bac Urban Development's initial exploration and research on the two projects in the city. He also directed relevant agencies to support the corporation in completing the 1/2,000 scale planning by September 2024 and the general construction planning for Can Tho City to submit to the Prime Minister.
The Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee affirmed that the city leaders are committed to focusing on direction, particularly in compensation and site clearance, and will coordinate closely with Kinh Bac Urban Development to ensure the projects are fully approved according to regulations.
With over 6,600 hectares of land stretching from the North to the South, equivalent to 5.09% of the national industrial park land fund, Kinh Bac Urban Development is one of the leading industrial real estate developers in Vietnam. Over 90% of the clients in Kinh Bac Urban Development's industrial parks are large multinational corporations such as Canon, LG, and Foxconn.
Additionally, Kinh Bac Urban Development owns over 1,400 hectares of urban land in major provinces and cities across the country.
Currently, the corporation is planning to prepare a land reserve for the coming years, with a total area of up to 3,500 hectares of industrial land and 650 hectares of urban land, to anticipate the fourth wave of FDI.
This year, Kinh Bac Urban Development will focus on implementing projects such as Trang Due 3 Industrial Park in Hai Phong, an industrial cluster in Hung Yen Province, and two industrial parks in Long An Province, aiming to start commercial operations between 2024 and 2025.
