The process of factory epoxy coating cannot be taken lightly because it is quite important that this helps protect the concrete floor surface from environmental agents, thereby increasing the life of the building. To ensure the effectiveness of long-term use, it is necessary to follow the correct construction process and understand some notes.

Epoxy Paint Concept

Epoxy paint is a factory floor paint line applied by BIC construction contractor to construction works using a 2-component mixture including Paint and curing agent to create a durable, solvent-resistant and capable finish. starting capacity for the floor and the floor plane of the factory.

The epoxy floor coating process needs to be a specialized paint used for factory floors that is combined by 2 main components to bond the magnetic parts, people are often divided into 2 different components. One part contains epoxy molecules with pigments, additives, solvents, the rest contains substances that play the role of bonding epoxy elements together.

Note the need to carry out the epoxy coating process when constructing

Before starting the construction, it is necessary to conduct a survey and evaluate the concrete surface to ensure
+ Concrete grade: Should use concrete grade 250, 300 or commercial concrete to ensure the quality of the work. The concrete grade also depends on the load-bearing requirements of the designed concrete foundation.
+ Moisture: The main cause of paint peeling makes them quickly damaged. If the moisture content is less than 5% with oil-based epoxy paint and less than 8% with water-based paint, the substrate is satisfactory. If the substrate exceeds the allowable humidity, you should make a medium layer on the substrate surface to prevent moisture before proceeding with the application.

+ Flat ground
The ground surface needs to be flat and solid to be qualified for construction. That side needs to roughen the surface so that the paint can adhere easily.
+ Clean before construction
In order for the surface to not be damaged, the paint should be cleaned after a period of use.
Prepare tools such as concrete floor grinders, vacuum cleaners, saw blades, spike rollers, specialized rollers.

The factory floor epoxy coating process includes 7 closed steps

The process of applying epoxy paint for the floor of the workshop must go through the following steps:

Step 1: Cover with canvas, clean the ground

This stage helps to limit noise and fine dust, thereby not affecting the surrounding areas.

Step 2: Treat the construction surface

You use a specialized ground grinding machine to ensure that the floor is always flat, not rough, to eliminate irregularities on the surface. Then, use a vacuum cleaner to remove dirt to increase paint adhesion.

Step 3: Clean and handle other problems on the concrete surface

You need to vacuum the dirt on the floor and treat the protrusions. Large cracks need to use specialized putty to fill.

Step 4: Apply primer

This is an indispensable step to help create adhesion between the substrate and the epoxy paint. In addition, the primer helps to prevent water from penetrating and releasing onto the substrate.

Step 5: Handling defects on the floor

In this step, you need to treat the tiny holes, cracks and other imperfections with Putty powder.

Step 6: Apply epoxy paint

Each type of epoxy paint has different construction methods, specifically as follows:

For epoxy paint roller system

- With the first layer of paint, use a roller to roll it evenly on the surface, then wait for 2-3 hours to dry and then apply the next layer.

– After the next class is completed, you can travel after 1 day, vehicles can move after 72 hours.

For self-levelling epoxy paint

This method is much thicker than roller coatings, they work according to the self-balancing chemical reaction of the paint. The steps include:

– After cleaning the substrate surface, you apply foam tape to separate the construction area, helping to limit paint smearing to other areas.

– Open 2 buckets of epoxy paint ingredients, use a stirrer to stir barrel A, pour paint in bucket B and mix well.

– Pour paint on the concrete surface and then use a rake to cover it evenly, then use a spiked roller to break it. Should be coated with paint thickness of 1-3mm, depending on the requirements of each project.

Step 7: Acceptance and handover of the project

You can walk on the ground after 1-2 days of construction, the construction unit can now hand over the work to the owner. In addition, if you want to move large tonnage vehicles, wait about 3-7 days.
