Central Vietnam's industrial zones play a crucial role in promoting the socio-economic development of the region, with strategic geographic locations and increasingly improved infrastructure. These industrial zones not only contribute to creating millions of jobs but also serve as ideal destinations attracting both domestic and foreign investment. Strong development potential coupled with preferential policies have turned Central Vietnam into a promising land for investors.
The following list of industrial zones in Central Vietnam not only provides useful and detailed information about each industrial zone but also aims to promote the sustainable development of this area. Through this, BIC hopes to support investors in seeking opportunities and making the right decisions when choosing to invest in industrial zones in Vietnam.
Central Vietnam has a favorable geographic location for industrial zones in terms of economic and cultural trade with provinces within the country as well as internationally, through road, sea, and air routes. It also serves as Laos’ gateway to the sea. With a geographical feature of a coastal strip extending over 10 degrees of latitude (from 10°N to 20°20'N), Central Vietnam has a characteristic narrow territory. This region includes coastal provinces to the east, narrow plains, and midland mountains to the west, creating diversity in natural conditions, climate, and culture. This diversity helps the provinces in the region to harmoniously develop both maritime and inland economies.
The western part of Central Vietnam is mountainous, occupying up to 4/5 of the territory's area. This area has significant potential for minerals, albeit on a small scale but diverse and abundant. Important resources include 61.3% of the country's iron ore reserves, the entire chromite reserves, along with 40% of limestone and building materials such as bentonite, graphite, titanium, granite, and gold.

In addition, Central Vietnam boasts numerous strengths such as deep-water ports and the opportunity for port-based industries to develop, including petrochemical refining, shipbuilding, steel production, heavy industries, and automobile industries.
The coastal region of Central Vietnam is located near national railway, road, and power grids, converging many favorable factors for the development of petrochemical industrial zones, concentrated industrial zones, export processing zones, and new urban areas. In the future, areas like Chan May Industrial Zone, Dien Nam - Dien Ngoc Industrial Zone, and Dung Quat Industrial Zone will develop into new urban areas with populations ranging from 100,000 to 120,000 people. Additionally, there are several special economic zones such as Chu Lai Open Economic Zone, Vung Ang Port Industrial Zone, Hon La Economic Zone, and Nhon Hoi Economic Zone that are being planned and developed, along with new coastal urban areas.
